Climate Change Risk

Eoliann is a Climate Risk Intelligence platform that combines AI, machine learning, and satellite data to turn climate risk into a strategic decision advantage.
It analyzes the exposure and vulnerability of assets, infrastructure, and portfolios, delivering high-precision risk maps and quantitative forecasts.

Eoliann helps companies and financial institutions make better-informed decisions on investments, resilience, and sustainability, fully aligned with leading regulatory standards.
With Eoliann, climate risk becomes measurable, comparable, and actionable.

CONTEXT

The market is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by a growing focus on sustainability, resilience, and risk management. Climate change is no longer an abstract concept—it is a tangible force shaping investments, infrastructure, supply chains, and operational continuity.

The increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events – floods, heatwaves, droughts, and storms – are generating significant economic impacts. Companies and institutions are now required to measure, anticipate, and mitigate climate risk, also in response to evolving regulations and rising stakeholder expectations.

In this context, the ability to turn climate data into strategic decisions has become a critical driver of both competitiveness and accountability.

TECHNOLOGY

Eoliann is built on an advanced technology stack that integrates high-resolution satellite data, Artificial Intelligence, and internationally recognized climate models.
Starting from satellite imagery, the platform extracts detailed morphological information and automatically identifies asset types – including infrastructure, residential, industrial, and agricultural assets.

These data are then processed through proprietary models that correlate exposure, vulnerability, and climate hazard, converting them into quantitative indicators and georeferenced GIS risk maps.
The analysis covers both current conditions and future scenarios, aligned with the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP 2.6, 4.5, and 8.5).
The result is a clear, scientifically robust, and actionable view of climate risk, tailored to each location, asset, and time horizon.

CHALLENGE

The traditional approach to assessing climate risk is no longer sufficient.
Models based solely on historical data assume that the future will mirror the past—but climate change has fundamentally broken this assumption. Extreme and catastrophic events now occur with a frequency and intensity that historical records are unable to predict.

The real challenge is therefore to rethink how climate risk is calculated, moving beyond backward-looking models and adopting a forward-looking approach. To truly understand the impact of climate events, it is essential to analyze in detail the morphological characteristics of the territory, the nature of the assets, and their physical and environmental context.

Only through new models that integrate territorial data, satellite observations, and future climate scenarios can organizations achieve a realistic, dynamic, and world-relevant assessment of climate risk.

ACTION

To develop the Italian and French markets, a structured go-to-market strategy was launched, focusing on sectors most exposed to climate risk. This included engaging companies with critical infrastructure, operators with industrial facilities, as well as banks and insurance companies responsible for assessing and managing complex, geographically distributed asset portfolios.

The initiative centered on prospect engagement and targeted executive presentations, addressed to top management, risk managers, and ESG leaders. During these sessions, the Eoliann solution was presented with a clear focus on its value for risk assessment, underwriting, credit analysis, and investment decision-making.
To support these discussions, customized demos were delivered, built around real assets, multi-asset portfolios, and specific geographic contexts.

RESULT

This approach led to the formalization of structured proposals and projects, building a strong and qualified sales pipeline and laying the foundations for the future growth and scalability of the solution.
